Magnesium Citrate
Magnesium citrate is not on the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) postive list. Soon, many magnesium citrate products will have to come off the market by the end of 2009. Some European countries have extended the deadline till 2010. If you are looking for a magnesium citrate product, Magnesium Supreme is your answer. Magnesium citrate is the active ingredient in Magnesium Supreme. Magnesium Supreme is made up of two ingredients; Magnesium Carbonate and Citric acid. Magnesium citrate is produced when Magnesium Supreme's two ingredients are combined with hot water. The addition of hot water causes the carbonate in the magnesium carbonate to "fizz away" and the magnesium to combine with the citric acid producing magnesium citrate. So we can satify the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and your magnesium citrate needs. Most magnesium citrate products are in tablet form and are only about 30% bio-available. Our magnesium citrate is a liquid and about 80% absorbable. The magnesium content of magnesium citrate corresponds to about 11%. The amount of citric acid added to Magnesium Supreme is proprietary and is designed to enhance bioavailability. Magnesium (and all minerals) need to be in an acidic environment for the magnesium to be absorbed and Magnesium Supreme has an ideal acidic content to allow for maximum bio-availability. Magnesium citrate works best if you take it on an empty stomach one half hour before bed. If taken with food, the food most likely will dilute the acid content and reduce the absorbability. It is designed to be taken with 8oz (240ml) of water. Magnesium Supreme Magnesium Citrate can be taken hot or cold but is best to add at least 30 ml (1 oz) of hot water to dissolve. Once dissolved add more hot or cold water and enjoy. Magnesium Supreme Magnesium Citrate has a citrus taste and most people find it pleasant. Magnesium Supreme Magnesium Citrate is an all natural magnesium supplement. Magnesium Citrate is AlkalizingAfter passing through the stomach (and stomach acids) and being hit with enzymes, what's left is an alkaline ash and the net result is that Magnesium Supreme magnesium citrate is alkalizing to the body. Think of fire wood being burned up, what is left after the digestive fire? Citric Acid is a "weak" acid that is easily eliminated via sweat and respiration. It is alkaline forming in that it stimulates the formation of magnesium carbonate in the body. Magnesium carbonate then neutralizes the "strong" acids in the body, acids that can only be gotten rid of through urination, including uric acid which is the end result of protein metabolism. So Magnesium Supreme Magnesium Citrate is the perfect pH balance to enhance the absorption of magnesium and alkalizing the body. Magnesium Citrate Has Two Main FunctionsMagnesium citrate has two main functions; one to restore magnesium levels to a healthy level, the second is to help keep you bowels regular. Once your body takes what it needs, it deposits the rest into the colon. The Magnesium citrate works by attracting water through the colon's tissues hydrating the colon. Once in the intestine, it attracts water into the intestine to induce defecation. The additional water helps to create more faeces, which naturally stimulates bowel motility. Magnesium Citrate can also be used to treat rectal and colon problems. Magnesium citrate is generally not a harmful substance, but care should be taken to consult with a health professional if any adverse health problems are suspected or felt. The optimal amount of magnesium citrate to take is where your bowels are comfortably loose. Magnesium Supreme magnesium citrate should never be taken long term as a substitute for a poor diet. |
